Effective October 26, 2026. These terms apply to GovBot Soils at soils.govbot.ai, operated by Ideation Lab, Corp.

Permitted use

Use this read-only service for public-record research and site planning. No sign-in or purchase is required. Respect rate limits and the published usage guidance of NRCS Soil Data Access. Do not attempt to bypass access controls, disrupt the service or submit confidential information.

Source qualifications

Preserve the stated survey area, SSURGO version date, units and retrieval time when reusing results. Soil survey maps are made at survey scale; map units can include soils that differ from their named components. Representative values are typical values for a component, not measurements at a location. Interpretation ratings are NRCS ratings of soil limitations for a stated use. An empty result or an unavailable source is not evidence about the soil on the ground.

Limits of the service

Results are not an on-site soil investigation, a percolation or soil suitability test, a septic or building permit decision, an engineering design or a flood determination. Those decisions are made from on-site evaluation by the responsible local or state authority and qualified professionals. The service does not provide legal or engineering advice. Records are provided as available without a guarantee of completeness, timeliness or fitness for a particular decision. GovBot is not affiliated with or endorsed by any government agency. Nothing here limits rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
