GovBot Soils
Read-only soil survey records for a location in the United States, from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Soil Survey Geographic Database (SSURGO): the soil map unit at a point or within a small area, component and horizon properties, NRCS interpretation ratings for common land uses, farmland classification and the soil survey area with its version date. No account or sign-in is required.
Source
USDA NRCS Soil Data Access, the NRCS web service for the Soil Data Mart database that holds the official SSURGO data for the United States and Island Jurisdictions. Each result states the survey area, the SSURGO version and the date that version was established, and the retrieval time. Records are read live from NRCS and held for up to ten minutes to limit repeat requests. Queries are built by the service from fixed templates; no caller-supplied query text is sent to NRCS.
Available operations

Scope and support
Results are mapped soil survey data at the scale of the soil survey, commonly 1:12,000 to 1:24,000. A map unit can include soils that differ from its named components in areas too small to delineate. Results are not an on-site soil investigation, a percolation test, a permit decision or an engineering design, and the service makes no flood or ponding determination. GovBot is not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, NRCS or any government agency.
